A case designed for the Zegna man. Now also in canvas. Life as a carry-on is demanding. You need to contain the life of a modern man, travelling to many places, at high speed. Fitting perfectly into the plane’s overhead locker. And withstanding all the hits and movement along the way. And when the contents inside are as precious as the Zegna man’s wardrobe, these items deserve a case that is designed with as much care as they are. Ermenegildo Zegna’s new wheeled carry on is the result of synthesising decades of craftsmanship in leather, precision engineering and material expertise.
Sometimes even the basics need to be questioned. Like the metal internal structure normally found in wheeled suitcases. We removed it, having found a way of making a structure that thestructural advantages of a metal frame without the weight associated with it. The result is an extremely light, strong case.
Instead of a metal skeleton, the internal structure is made from a shock absorbing memory fabric on which the external leather I applied. When it’s squeezed, it bounces back, perfectly keeping its shape. All the while it protects the precious contents inside.
A specially designed suit carrier and hanger can be hooked into the first compartment, with room to store at least two suits neatly and securely. The internal zip pocket is designed specifically for shirts, and a modular carabina keeps all the clothes in their place. The carry-on case has a shallow external pocket for a passport and other quick-to-access items and is paired with a deeper one for documents, books and newspapers.
After we arrived at the design, we realised it in the best materials. The case is available in a choice of nappa, calfskin and heritage leathers. And now in canvas. Each detail has been carefully considered, and each fabric sourced with the most care. The materials, the design, the craftsmanship: all honour the quality of what is stored within. The carry-on case. By Zegna, for Zegna.
