On February 14, the Hennessey Venom GT set a new world speed record for a two-seat sports car by reaching 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h) at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The test was driven by Brian Miller, the Director of Miller Motorsports Park, on the 3.2-mile space shuttle landing runway. VBox GPS data-acquisition systems were employed to independently verify and document the world record speed, while the video shows us a firsthand view. The record was reached with the car running on an innovative synthetic motor oil made from gas – Pennzoil Platinum with PurePlus Technology, making the feat even more incredible.
